F-8 Crusader

My finished model of the famous F-8 Crusader, the so called "Last Gunfighter" as it was the last American fighter aircraft whose primary weapon was its four 20mm cannons. In service at a time when guns and dogfighting were thought obsolete, the Crusader proved that both were still neccesary elements in aerial warfare. While replaced by the intially gunless F-4 in the Navy, it remained in service with the National Guard until the 1980s and the French Navy until the 1990s.
